I purchased the LG Super Multi Drive to replace an ailing Pioneer 208BD burner I had installed about two years ago. I have a Mac Pro Mid 2012 running OS X 10.11.3 (El Capitan). The installation of the new LG drive went without a hitch once I was able to remove the front plate of the drive tray (which was a little more difficult than it first appeared). I have so far burned 4 25GB blu-ray discs without a hitch. The drive just worked--no additional software installation was necessary. It is still early to determine how durable the drive is, as I have had it now only a few days, but so far, so good. While I did not need them, I really appreciated that OWC sent absolutely everything that would be needed to install the drive in terms of cables and manuals. The directions on removing the front plate could be a little clearer for bone heads like myself. Other than that, everything is perfect so far and I would definitely recommend this drive.
